I am having a weird problem in Excel 2007 with bubble charts. I have three columns of data I want to display, and all are in the range 0 - 6 (numeric values). I'd like the third column to be the size of the bubble, the first two to be the x and y axes. When I drawn this the bubble chart comes up with an x scale of 20, not of 6, despite all the data being <=6. I am doing something stupid, or is this a bug? Is there a way around this?
Apologies in advance if this is obvious but I have been looking at this for some time and am baffled. I attach a sample showing the problem.
Your data series includes the text in row 1. This has the effect of ignoring the values in column B as the X position. Instead the X position is a sequential value 1 to 15.
Adjust the series data bounds to exclude the first row and the chart will correct itself.
Ah, is that all it was! Thank you so much for taking the trouble to look at this; it has saved me lots of time and heartache. Much appreciated.![]()
