Hi,
I'm trying to create a dynamic DS for a chart in Excel 2007.
it won't accept named ranges (it automatically converts them to ranges, so any chages to the named range is not reflected..)
it won't accept Offset formula (or any other that i tried).
i can resolve it by code (change event and setting new ds..) but i'd like not to do that.
i can also use formulas in the ds table - but then i get blank columns in the chart and I don't want that either...
any ideas??
thanks!!

Can you post example file?
Hi. I am having a similar issue with this. Actually, I have the professional edition at work and this file does work. However, in the Home/Student edition I have at home, the same file does not display the chart in its own tab. I think it might be a bug. Also note how just the chart in its own tab does not work yet the same chart in the data tab does work.
Can anybody test this and/or look at it?
Note: I can solve this by making the named range without an offset function (I used a combination of index and indirect) but this is annoying.
Not sure what to tell ya.
I used the same formula I have for my dynamic ranges, changed ever so slightly to suit your dynamic range, and it all seems to work for me.
Note: I'm also using microsoft home and student 2007.
