    Creating a New Unique Chart

I have six buildings which are getting Carpet REplaced. I have the total Square Footage for each Building as my Base Number. I have the number of Square Footage used in 2007 and 2008. I am trying to create a Chart which shows each building, then on one graft have the total square footage in one color, 2007 completed a different color and 2008 a third color. Leaving at the top how much is left to be accomplished.

Can anyone help me with this.

    Building 5000 5002 5008 5010 5016
    Required 2160 476 1160 1419 526
    FY 07 Completed 591 0 314 814 86
    FY 08 Completed 464 144 714 605 400

Well, I'm not expert but I play around a little bit, and something that I saw someone else do with a chart might work for the effect that you are looking for.

Start up by setting up a basic Column chart, using the second option where it stack the items on top of each other.

Then if you click on the data series related to square footage required in the chart, left click on the mouse and select chart type, now change this series only to an area chart first option. By doing this it shows your goal, while the columns show what you have accomplished.

You can go one step further, by click on the data series and formating pattern, select fill effect and then select two colors, if you put the darker color on the top it adds more contrast, white is a good second color.

Hope this gets you a step closer to what your looking for.

Create a clustered column chart using all 3 data series.
Move the 2 Year values to the secondary axis. Change the chart type to Stacked column.
    Delete secondary Value axis.

decrease Gap width of both charts to 10 to increase column width
