I have a couple of questions on how to report some data that I have in Excel.
Here is a small sample of my data (2 columns) Column one is the date that the order is place, and column 2 is the exact time the order is placed.
order_date Profit
5/28/2009 15:44 103.5
5/28/2009 15:40 379.5
5/28/2009 15:36 299
5/28/2009 14:00 230
5/28/2009 12:57 227.7
5/28/2009 12:36 197.8
5/28/2009 9:52 248
5/28/2009 9:20 207
5/28/2009 2:59 23
5/28/2009 2:47 86.25
5/28/2009 1:03 356.5
I'm trying to figure out a way to graphically represent sales in a 24-hour chart. Essentially, I'm trying to figure out which hours of the day are the most profitable to me.
Any ideas? I can't figure it out at all.
I'm using Excel 2003

In the next column use the HOUR function to return just the hour for each entry in the order_date column. Enter numbers 1 thru 24 in either a column or row and use SUMIF in the next column or row. Select the two rows or columns and insert chart.
Hope this helps,
Gary
