I already have the dates converted to day of the week in that column just by using the format cell. Now I'd like to figure out how to calculate each row that has Monday tues, wed etc, and give me the Median time of each day of the week that is in a different column.
Thanks for the welcome!
Post an example and explain in context.
Microsoft MVP - Excel
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
PROCdat ROOMTIME
Tuesday 0:59
Tuesday 0:55
Saturday 1:14
Friday 0:43
Wednesd 0:26
Thursday 2:58
Sunday 0:57
Monday 1:41
Friday 1:00
Sunday 0:34
Wednesd 0:50
Thursday 0:52
Monday 1:29
Wednesd 0:52
Friday 2:07
Friday 1:01
Friday 1:12
Sunday 1:29
Thursday 0:42
So now
Day of week Median time
Monday XX:XX
Tuesday XX:XX
Wednesday XX:XX
Etc....
Does that help?
Thanks again.
Umm -- how about an example workbook

Ah ha didn't see that at the bottom... here ya go.
The array formula in F2 and copied down is =MEDIAN(IF(WEEKDAY($A$2:$A$20)=D2, $B$2:$B$20))Code:----A---- ---B---- C ---D--- ----E---- --F--- 1 PROCDATE ROOMTIME Weekday Day Median 2 Tuesday 0:59 1 Sunday 0:57 3 Tuesday 0:55 2 Monday 1:35 4 Saturday 1:14 3 Tuesday 0:57 5 Friday 0:43 4 Wednesday 0:50 6 Wednesday 0:26 5 Thursday 0:52 7 Thursday 2:58 6 Friday 1:01 8 Sunday 0:57 7 Saturday 1:14 9 Monday 1:41 10 Friday 1:00 11 Sunday 0:34 12 Wednesday 0:50 13 Thursday 0:52 14 Monday 1:29 15 Wednesday 0:52 16 Friday 2:07 17 Friday 1:01 18 Friday 1:12 19 Sunday 1:29 20 Thursday 0:42
