Cant figure out how they made this Chart

Hey guys,

I need some help. I saw this chart and it would be really helpful for me.. but i cant figure out how they made it. sorry if the image is small.. but hopefully it shows what i need to do.

I am talking about the middle chart in top row. it has the title "pyramid of united states - 2050". see how it has to vertical line charts.. where the middle of the x axis is 0% and it gets bigger by 10% on each side of the center.. i really need to find out how to create something like that.

Any suggestions?
