Hi. I'm creating a clustered column chart in Excel 2003 and I have a different number of elements in different clusters. For example, for the cluster "CL-572" I want to see 6 columns, but for the cluster "CL-571" I only want three columns. The way I have the spreadsheet set up, Excel infers a value of 0 for each blank so that in clusters with fewer than six entries, the columns are spaced out because it assumes that there is a "0 column" in there somewhere. Can I tell Excel that when there are blanks in the spreadsheet, the chart should omit the column rather than plot a 0? Thank you.

If you could that would mean the width of a column across clusters would vary.
This would then imply the width of the column had some relevance.
If you only have 2 clusters then it may be possible by using the secondary axis and some careful laying out of your data.
You could also try using the technique for creating variable width columns.
