    Re: Gantt Chart

    Hello Vamshi57
If you don't need a very complicated Gantt chart - John Walkenbach has a method for approximating a Gantt chart using Excell's chart wizard and a bar graph

    1. select your data
    2. open the chart wizard
    3. choose a bar graph
    4. choose a stack bar chart for the sub type
    5. remove the legend
    6. click finish
    7. adjust the chart height so axis labels are visible
    8. adjust the horizontal axis min. & max. to match your start and end dates
    9. go to the scale tab and select "categories in reverse order"
    10. select option for Value (Y) crossed at Max. category
    11. select 1st data series and open the "Format Data Series" box ... in the patterns tab set the border and fill colors to "none"

this will make a simple/rough gantt type chart without having to import any thing or do any VBA coding ... but it has limitations

I have gone through this process several times to make a presentable gantt-type chart for projects using Excel 2003 - to the envy of my coworkers. :D

    good luck!
