chart(s) template changing line style

I have multiple charts saved in my chart templates, suddenly, it does not recall line sytle (6 pt) or that i dont want markers on the line....I have saved new charts as templates over and over...same result, templates don't go back to the desired line size and markers are here....WHAT TO DO?

can you post one of these template files that does not appear to be formatting a chart as required.

what i have attached is a excel file that has a pivot table created chart that id done correctly....when i try to make another similar chart...that's when the old line style and markers show up, thanks.

I take it the new chart is based on the same template?

I can not test anything as I do not have your template.

So I tried this myself. I created a line chart, no markers, and formatted the lines and axis. Saved this as a template.

No trouble apply the template to a normal chart.
But when applied to a pivotchart not all the formatting comes through. Axes are formatted but line and markers remain as normal.

I would suggest this is a bug.

Only work around would be similar to that in xl2003 when pivot chart formatting was reset when content changed. That is you need to run code to re-apply formatting.

i have no idea what anyof that means...i'm a real estate appraiser and i run the charts from pivot tables....data changes but i usually run the same charts....what can i do?
