    Dynamic Scale in a Chart

Can the range in chart be set dynamically based on information entering into the stated chart range but not looking at the full data set range.

    To illustrate

    Colum A Column B Column C Column D Column E
    Row 1 Value 1 Value 2 +b1+(b1*0.5) +b1-(b1*0.5) +(c1-d1)/10
    Row 2 Value 3 Value 2 +b2+(b2*0.5) +b2-(b2*0.5) +(c2-d2)/10
    Row 3 Value 4 Value 5 +b3+(b3*0.5) +b3-(b3*0.5) +(c3-d3)/10

The entries in column A are measured lab data recored for line samples taken every 2 - 3 hours. The entries in colum B are manually entered limits based on the a target value know for the measurement. The spec limits can change but this is know to tose producing the chart and they will enter the necessary target column B.

I want a chart of the date accumlating over a 24hr period to always show the latest points on a sensible scale (Target +/- 50% of the target value.)

The chart logs data from a standard range split into 24 1 hour time intervals
(Not every time interval gets populated.)

I am not worried about not seeing data that recorded in eows 1 and two if the new target mean they will disappear.

Can anyone help I will try to put chart spreadhseet in illustraing what I am looking for later

Re: Dynamic Scale in a Chart

    Hi,

a good starting point for dynamic charts is Jon Peltier's site, especially

    http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/Dynamics.html

If you get stuck, upload a data sample, so we can have a look.

    cheers

Avoid pie charts with more than two data points. Why? See here (pdf, 559 kb). The only acceptable pie chart is here.
