    Stacked data

I can't seem to understand what type of chart would work on the attached sheet. I would like the Name, Tap, Value, Voltage on X-axis and Time on Y-axis. Is it possible? I want Lane to be my series.

    Hi qwert1234,

You may want to have a look into Pivot charts. These will sum up your values into categories and charte the totals.

Although, I must confess, I don't quite understand what you mean by the combination of "I want Lane to be my series" and "I would like the Name, Tap, Value, Voltage on X-axis".

Could you maybe mock up a chart with the drawing tools that shows what you want to see?

    cheers

Avoid pie charts with more than two data points. Why? See here (pdf, 559 kb). The only acceptable pie chart is here.

    Re: Stacked data

    Hi teylyn,

Thanks for the reply. I think let me try to explain the required graph again. I don't think I did a good job in explaining what I want. Sorry about that. I'll try my best this time.

I want to make a chart (doesn't matter which type) that has multiple X-axis labels (data - multi-category labels?) - Name,Tap, Value,Voltage. I've this data for multiple "Lane" and want to plot these data against Time (Y-axis)

Let me know if this is still not clear and may be I can try to explain it in more details.

    TIA.

Look into pivot charts or make me a drawing of what you would like the chart to look. Your explanations don't make much sense. Time would be a series in its own. You can't plot "against time" or have "time on the Y axis". The Y axis will be representing the numbers you have in the series.
