    Time Scale

I am having trouble getting the correct dates to appear on a line graph. The graph has 2 different series with 2 years worth of data from 4/1/07 to 3/31/10. The time scale will show the data if the timescale is set to 1/1/00, but the data will not show when i change the timescale to the dates that I am wanting to show. Any assitance would be appreciated

Re: Excel Charting Time Scale Question

We need to know a few things.
    What is the chart type?
Are the dates defined as Date (Format cells "m/d/yy")?
Do both series have the same time stamps?

A sample Workbook with 3 data points of each series would be nice
Looking for great solutions but hate waiting?

Re: Excel Charting Time Scale Question

Here is the chart and data (on sheet 1) that I am trying to create. I need the points to be plotted out as it is. However, I need the dates to to be shown from 4/1/07 to 3/31/10 preferrably broke down by month. Thanks!

Re: Excel Charting Time Scale Question

You have no values selected for the X axis. It is defaulting to a count, starting at 1. You have formatted that as a date, so it shows as 1/1/1900.

Select the dates for the X axis and format the axis to be a date axis and set the major unit to 30 or 60 to have 30 or 60 days between x axis markers.

Avoid pie charts with more than two data points. Why? See here (pdf, 559 kb). The only acceptable pie chart is here.
