Hi,
Hope someone can help me out with these graph questions. Please take a look at my beautiful graph to get a better look at what I’m trying to solve.
1: In the graph (see picture) I would like to fill in the area that is below zero for the orange line and above zero for the red line.
2. I would also like to have arrows/lines as in the picture pointing each direction with a value that indicates the difference between the lines. I have the difference between the two lines but I can’t get the graph to make arrows or lines indicating where the difference comes from.
Is there an easy way to figure this out?
Thanks in advance!
It should be possible using various tricks but a lot depends on your chart/data.
Your sketch appears to show lines as point to point and step variety.
Add value between lines

shading can be done with area charts

Thanks for the reply.
I have already looked at andy popes value between lines, but I couldnt understand how he sundenly got lines in the bottom of his tutorial.
oleisbest, maybe you can give Andy a hint that the tutorial lacks clarity. I hear he sometimes visits this site
Using Andy's example file from the tutorial, select either the red or the green line, then click Format Series - Options tab - tick High-low lines and OK.
Then format the blue line series to have no line.
cheers
I'm sure I can have a word and get things changed if they really are not clear.
Post an example of your chart/data so we can see how far you have got and what is still missing.
