Hi,
I'm struggling to get Excel to apply conditional formatting to a graph I have constructed to show when periods are occuring on a timeline. I want to conditionally format the specified periods depending on their type - a specified value.
I've attached a file with a chart plotting periods that are "off" specified with a start and end date for a set of multiple items.
What I would like to do is conditionally format the colour of the bars based on the "Period Type".
Period Type A would show as a light green bar
Period Type B would show as a light blue bar
Period Type C would show as a light orange bar
Is this possible? To differentiate on a specified conditional value within the same series?
Kind Regards,
Sikey

You need to add 2 extra data series for each period.
Then with formula test for the period type and if A populate the 1st series associated with period 1, if B the second and if C the third.
Repeat for all periods.
Then format each series as either green, blue, orange or none.
Many thanks Andy - with your tips I managed to get it to do what I wanted.

Sikey
