Hello,
I have an excel 2007 chart (attached) that has multiple target lines (green and red lines in the chart). Is there an easy way to have them span the length of the chart, as opposed to starting and stopping on the x axis ticks? I've searched but every suggestion seems to reference the "axis crosses between categories" option which I'm not seeing in excel 2007.
Thanks...
You could add a linear trendline to those series and extend it forward and back 1/2 period.
Microsoft MVP - Excel
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
Or right-click the axis, Format Axis > Axis Options, tick Position Axis: On tick marks
Microsoft MVP - Excel
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
hmmm...that workaround would do, but unfortunately as soon as I add data labels, they are all overlapping the charts borders because of that change.
I could have sworn there was a different way to only extend the target lines themselves by using a secondary axis, but I can't see how to do it with this data I have (since I already have 2 axis used).
The target lines are xy-scatter lines so you can use appropriate values to draw the lines from the edges
that works great. thanks!
