bar charts default to reversing order on axis

When I create a bar chart, the order of the data rows and colums are always automatically reversed (i.e. if my data has rows from top to bottom: "A","B","C", when I go to create the bar chart the Y-axis will read from top to bottom: "C","B","A"). Then I have to go into Format Axis and select "Categories in Reverse Order." I'll attach an example.

WHY? I don't have this problem at home or in other versions of Excel. Do I have some default set wrong?

The default behaviour for a bar chart IS to plot the first data point at the origin or bottom upwards.

If this is not what happens on your other excel installations then they have been changed in someway.
