hi guys,
i'm looking for a way to view multiple versions of one chart, with a drop-down to select which version of the chart you actually view. i'm already aware of two ways to do this:
1) simply add a filter to the selected data that the chart is using, and use those filters as opposed to a drop-down above the chart
2) create multiple charts and link the drop-down to select them, as described here: http://chandoo.org/wp/2008/11/05/sel...art-from-many/
the issues i have with this are:
1) this method isn't really feasible for me, as there are multiple sections of data on one worksheet, and filtering for a single chart messes up the rest of the data/charts
2) this method would require creating a bunch of charts in another worksheet. this could get messy if i want to have 10-20 versions based on the data.
is there a simpler/more creative way to do this with the existing data? something with VBA?
thanks...

Take a look at the links on Dynamic and Interactive Chart on Jon Peltier's site and see if there is an approach you can adapt.
