Thread: Plot points on a area chart or plot areas on a scatter chart

Hi!

I'd like to plot some points like A(xa,ya) and B (xb, yb) on a area chart. I have defined and plotted 3 zones on the area chart and I would like to visually see in which zone my A and B are for example. see attached file

Do you know if this is possible to plot points on a area chart or plot areas on a scatter chart?

Hi,

I'd like to be able to quickly plot projects name into a defined zone chart for selection - the desired chart is plotted on the page "data".
The zones are defined - see chart "zone to show" - my x axis has to be between 0 to 5 and y axis between 0 to 3. The axis are properly displayed on this chart.

After I need to add to projects defined by an (x,y) to the chart and I would like to display their names.
Each time I do that, my x axis is taking the scale 0 to 5 as a category axis. so the chart does not look nice as the 0 on x axis does not correspond to the 0 on the y axis like in the "zone to show" chart (white area around) - see chart "tentative for zone + data". Plus the points are not aligned to x axis so the project plot are not even correct.

Is there anyone who knows how to combine a area chart (chart "zone to show") with a scatter chart (chart " project name plot") without messing the x axis?

In addition, I would have to display many projects. Right now, I add manually one by one by creating a serie, selecting the name, then the x value and y value to display a point, after I need to add the data label and then select the series name to be displayed. If you have any idea about automating the chart (taking each project, plotting x,y into the zone chart and displaying the name) with a macro that could be really great!

I have tried many things but nothing works and this is driving me crazy! I need your help!!
