Greetings. New here.
I'm trying to make a simple chart in Excel 2007. I have data in a column in the form of minutes:seconds.milliseconds, like so:
25:30.52
25:30.52
25:30.521
25:30.52
25:30.52
25:30.52
My coworker can select the column, go to "Insert," then "Line," choose the icon two down from the line icon ("line with markers"), and it correctly creates a chart showing each of the data points in an appropriate range. The cells he selected are the data points and are outlined in blue.
When I do it, if I selected the above cells, the first 5 are the title and the last one is the only data point. The first five are outlined in green and the last one is in blue. And it has the wrong range. My coworker can't figure out anything different that he has set and neither can I.
When I send the exact same file to him, and without changing anything he selects and inserts the Line chart it works beautifully.
I'm the newb at my place of employment (been here about 3 months) on a brand-spankin' new computer, and he's been here for years and his computer isn't quite as new (unfair, I know), so presumably my Excel has "factory default" settings and his could have been tweaked, though he doesn't recall doing anything special to it. We both have Excel 2007 on Dell PC's.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance.
Edited to add: Thanks for moving my post to the correct folder. Mea culpa.
