    Weightloss in stones and pounds

I want to make a chart of my weight loss journey but don't know what formula to use for stone and lbs. I want to use my start weight say 10 st 7lbs then the following weeks weight say 10 st 3lbs and it calculate how much i've lost that week, can anyone help please?

    TIA

Easiest would be to enter it in decimal
ie 10 st 7 lb is 10.5 stone. But if you're determined to do it in stones and pounds you could enter into two separate columns and then calculate the difference OR if you want to enter it in stones and lbs in one cell then you could use some special separator "!" for example and write a more complex calculation that stripped the numbers to the left and right of the "!" for the calculation

    weightloss in stones and lbs.xlsx

Ok you cen tell I'm bored. Here's a solution using the "!" as a separator between Stones and lbs. It returns teh weight loss in teh same format. It allows you to use one cell only for data entry.

It's probably not worth the effort really but there you go. I used Mr Wilsons figures from his example and it seems to be giving the right answers
