Conditional formatting for a range of cells based on data from two cells

I would like to cause a conditional format where the data would not show in a cell which has a formula if either of two other cells in the table is blank. Then I would like to apply that conditional formatting to all the cells in the column following the first cell with the conditional formatting.

Thank you for any help you can give.

Hi Tindomerel,
Welcome to the Forum.

More detail is needed like which column has formula and what are the referenced columns in the formula and which column and what range is to be conditionally formatted.
Regards

Hi, welcome to the forum

Not sure you need CF for this? Have you tried to use a formula that says =IF(AND(a1="",B1=""),"",your-formula)
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: Conditional formatting for a range of cells based on data from two cells

Thank you for replying. It would be very difficult to explain what I want without being able to get a picture of the spreadsheet into this post. I have tried copying and pasting but it only pastes the text without the formatting. I tried making a JPEG image of the Excel spreadsheet but it doesn't let me paste it into this post. I tried uploading the JPEG image but it only creates the following:

Excel Chart.jpg

So if you can tell me how to get a picture or copy of the spreadsheet into this post, I would be grateful.

Thank you.

Re: Conditional formatting for a range of cells based on data from two cells

Thank you for your instructions about attaching a file. The attached file has been added below. I have already made some entries into this spreadsheet as you can see. The K column contains a formula in each cell. I want to start with cell K8 and set up a conditional format that when either cell E8 or cell J8 are empty, cell K8 will have a format where the text and background are the same color; i. e., the text will not show. I want to extend this conditional format to every cell below K8. The idea is that the K column should not show text until entries have been made in both column E cells and column J cells down the line. With some of the entries added, the chart should now show that every cell below K12 will not show text. If this is possible, I would appreciate any help you could give with setting up that conditional format.

Thank you for your help.

Select the range K7:K139 and the use the following formula to make a New Rule for conditional formatting and set the format as per your choice.

In the attached sheet, I have applied the conditional formatting and set the cell color a white and font color as white.
