Set row height of new table row automatically

    Hi all,

So If I insert a new table row, due to the autofilter I have running automatically after each "change", it goes straight to the bottom of the table and the row height goes to the default height (16.5 i think). I need it to go to 37.5.

I'd do this myself but there will be people using this spreadsheet who don't know how to do such things so I'm trying to make it as user friendly as possible.

    Anyone able to help?

    EDIT:

I've posted this in the wrong section! My bad.

Re: Set row height of new table row automatically

    Hello,

row height is not a property that is automatically applied to a new row in an Excel table, as far as I know. Depending on the formatting of the cells in the row (for example, if a column is set to wrap text), the row height will adjust to accommodate the text entered as soon as it is entered. But there is no provision for a default minimum height of new rows when all cells are blank.

That is just the way Excel works.

    cheers, teylyn

    Ahh I see.

How about a different approach then, perhaps if A1 is blank then row height = "37.5".

Or is setting the row height impossible without dragging/setting through the options box?

    Row height depends on

    - the setting applied to the row, either manually or with VBA, or
    - the calculated height required to accommodate text in a cell set to wrap text.

If you are prepared to use VBA, you can do almost anything. But without VBA you're stuck with manually setting the row height or depending on multi-line cells.
