How to dynamically address a row within index-match functions

    Hello,

I have a matrix in the range A172:O215

    I have developed these formulas:

    HTML Code:
    HTML Code:
The fisrt one gets the row number where it finds the closest number to one that is given in Range(B217). In a case, the result is 203, i.e. row 203.

Then, in the first place, the second formula, within the row 203, in this case as I said, gets the column number where it finds the closest number to one that is given in Range(D217). The result is 13, i.e. column 13. Then, with the functions Indirect and Address, it returned the value in the cell(172,13).

If you realized in the second formula, the range to look for (row 203, in this case) is set manually. The problem is that I needed it dynamically, since the number in Range(B217) will be changed by the user. I do not know how to insert the first formula into the second one, something like: "MATCH(VLOOKUP(B217,A173:A215,1),A:A,FALSE) : MATCH(VLOOKUP(B217,A173:A215,1),A:A,FALSE), if that is the solution?

    Appreciate ANY help.

    Nelson

OK, instead of telling us what those formulas are supposed to be doing, why not tell us exactly what you are trying to do - and upload a small (clean) sample workbook (not a pic) of what you are working with, and what your expected outcome would look like.
    1. Use code tags for VBA. [code] Your Code [/code] (or use the # button)
    2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
    3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

    FDbbins,

    Thanks for anwering.

This would be the first time I upload a workbook, hope to do it right.

What I need is to find the loss and diameter that correspond to the Flow closest to the Given Flowrate, at the velocity of 5 fps. See
    the Sample that I attached.

    Thank you so much.
