Need help organizing data from an exported report.

    Hi,

I have data from a report I pulled from our ERP system. Its customer purchases data. I want to rearrange it for better analysis, but want to know if there is a better way to do it.
The report leaves alot of blank spaces which makes it hard to filter through. I've been manually cutting/pasting in rows and deleting rows to bring the data together, but 16000 rows is quite alot. Was wondering if there is a better way to do it?

Below is what I have and what I want:

    WHAT THE REPORT GIVES ME:

Before spending a lot of time analysing the data and working out how to create the results you seek, the first question to ask is whether this is the only report you can get out of yourf erp system?

It looks very much like a standard Print Report in a .txt or .prn format. Most self-respecting erp systems can output .csv or even .xlsx files containing fields of data that you specify.

If you have control over what the erp system can output then I suggest you check that first beofore spending time converting a Print Report to a regular table report.

Yes i've tried all that. .csv makes a mess of everything, making it even more difficult. I've tried 7 different reports, in different ways. This was the best one with all the information i needed.

    Which ERP system is it?

Is there not a report definition module with which you can define which fields of information you want? I'll be surprised if there's not. Then there will presumably be options to choose the format of a report, preferably a .xlsx or failing that a csv.

Would you upload the report you describe and also the csv report that you've tried.
We always like to work with actual data files , not merely text that you've copied and pasted.
