I have a workbook with multiple worksheets. I want to create an Index, where a list in column A has a link which moves to the worksheet whose name is listed in column A.
I tried using "= HYPERLINK("#Sheet1!A1","Sheet1")", which I saw on another post.
This does work, however, it requires user to reopen the original spreadsheet.

Workbook is hosted in Sharepoint, not sure if related.
This is Excel 2007.
if you go to the insert tab and select hyperlink under links, then select "place in this document". follow the instructions and you will have a hyperlink to a cell in another worksheet

I tried that originally, however have the same issue. When I click the link it reopens the workbook.
well thats what a hyberlink like that will do, it will open the file that it is linked to.
if that is now what you wanted, then please explain more?
