    Right-click hyperlink options are missing

I have a spreadsheet with two types of hyperlinks: one set copy-pasted from a webpage with links to other webpages, and another set created using "=hyperlink()". Both sets open correctly when using the mouse. But when I right-click the items in the "=hyperlink()" set, I do not get the Edit and Open Hyperlink options. All I get are Remove Hyperlink and a greyed-out Hyperlink option. All options are available for the copy-pasted set.

I would like to be able to open all of my hyperlinks using the keyboard instead of the mouse, but cannot figure out how to do so since the "=hyperlink()" set does not have the Open Hyperlink option. Is there some way I can restore the Open Hyperlink option or some other way to use hyperlinks via the keyboard?

    Thanks!

Yes, sorry for not being clearer! Specifically, the function looks like

Where I4 is a page identifier in the adjacent column.

That doesn't work for me. It just progresses to the cell underneath. Shift+enter, ctrl+enter, and ctrl+shift+enter also don't work (this is true for the copy-pasted hyperlinks as well as the =hyperlink() links).

Currently, the only way I have found to access the =hyperlink() hyperlinks is by left-clicking once with the mouse, but I would really like to be able to open them using keyboard only, as I am able to do with the copy-pasted ones.

I tried that and it doesn't work for me. I am using Office 2010 and a google search suggests that other 2010 users have had this problem with "enter" not opening hyperlinks. This thread tells someone with the same problem to use the shortcut key between alt and ctrl to the right of the keyboard to pull up the options menu as a workaround, but that is exactly the problem I am having-- I don't have the "open hyperlink" option in that menu.

Re: Right-click hyperlink options are missing

I guess I don't understand what you mean by "It's not a hyperlink in the same way." I was unaware that there are different types of hyperlinks, in terms of their functionality and beyond just how they are created (i.e., using the =hyperlink() function as opposed to right-clicking and adding the hyperlink via the navigation box).

Do I understand correctly that using the =hyperlink() function simply cannot, and will not ever, allow me to right-click and use the "open hyperlink" option? And that if I am unable to open it with the enter key, as you are able to do, the only way to open the hyperlink is to left-click it? If that is the case, is there any way to convert the =hyperlink() links to the format that will allow me to open it via keyboard commands?

I apologize if I am missing something obvious, but I keep getting more confused!

=hyperlink() is a function and works in the way its set up, the other type is embedded and thats why it has its own menu although they do the same thing its done in a different way. why enter doesnt work i cant say i havent got 2010 to test
you may need some code to create a shortcut

I do not know of a keyboard shortcut for accessing hyperlinks created with the HYPERLINK() formula. They do need to be clicked with a mouse. THey are still preferable to imbedded hyperlinks, IMO.

Thank you both for explaining that... I searched all over and couldn't find a thing! I guess I will indeed have to do some sort of code to get around it, because I agree-- the formula hyperlinks are better than the embedded ones.
