Calculate drivers hours and rest periods

    Hi Everyone,

I am a lorry driver and am bound by certain laws regarding drivers hours and rest breaks. I am wondering if anyone here has an excel workbook that will allow me to enter in my worked hours and will show if I am working within the legislation.

    Thanks.......Ian

    You are welcome.

I believe that if you spent some minutes trying to explain us what is that you are looking for, someone will be able to offer a solution to your problem.

Re: Calculate drivers hours and rest periods

Ok I have done a little more work to help explain what I am looking for.

You will see from the attachment I have put in my basic working days over a 3 week period. The cells in green and red are my rest days, however sometimes I will work my rest days.

I have got a formula that will work out the rest hours for each block but sometimes I will work where the cells are green, this will then change the rest hours but I am unsure how to change or edit the forumla to take this in to account.

Here is a mock up file to get an idea of what I require
    Book1.xls

I hope this explains my requirements a little better.

    Thanks

    Hior
I know this thread has been around for a while but I am a newly qualified HGV Class 2 Driver with my Class 1 test 2 weeks away - I did the test last week and although a faultless drive with just 7 minor's, I left the legs down on the recoupling - otherwise, I would have passed

I am working on a monthly Drivers hours spreadsheet but cannot get the excel formula for drivers daily rest finishing one day at 17:30 and starting next day at 05:30 - does anyone know how to get this to calculate the 12:00 - it is not taking away but adding the hours to midnight plus the additional 05.30

Once completed, I will be happy to share the final draft for comments with instructions how to use

    Mike
