Try dividing by 3600. Which is the number of seconds in one hour.
Or use the built in Excel function =Convert(3652,"sec","hr")

thanks for the quick reply..I just tried that formula but its not working on my end...I am using excel 2003
I tested on Excel 2002 and it worked for me.
hmm...this is strange...just downloaded the sample workbook but the value that appears on the cell which has formula is #NAME?
1 day = 86400 s
so try to divide n to 86400 :
=3652/86400
then format as mm:ss or [mm]:ss

Just read this:
CONVERT requires the analysis toolpak to be loaded.
Tools|Addins check 'Analysis Toolpak'

hey alan,
ok...i got that..however i am not using a full version of excel 2003. also this machine i am using requires admin right to install...is there a simpler computation to do this? like if 3652 is in cell A1 then on cell B1 the formula would be =A1/3600?
a1/3600 is correct
format cell general gives 1.014444444 hrs
