Need to copy all data for each week and compile to one sheet for year to date data.

    Please help!

is there an equation to collect data input on a daily basis for each week and put it in one worksheet or workbook?

i have each sheet representing week 1 through week 52 for the entire year.

i would like to collect the hours for each task that each employee has done year to date.

Please see sheet "YTD" sheet for desire output.

Thank you in advance for your help.

It looks like the file you uploaded is a little incomplete? You have data for only week 1 and the YTD sheet only has "date" and "e"?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

    Thanks for the file

1st question...will your sheets be called week1, week2 etc, or can the use the actual week number...week44, week45 etc? (this will make things SO much easier, because I can use that to reference the sheet)

2nd question (and I think I already know the answer, but have to ask) how many names/employees will you have on each sheet?

THis is what I have so far, but am struggling a bit with the days

    @FDibiins,

thanks for responding to my post.

answer#1: base from our past template we are actually using weekending. For the year of 2014, we would actually use "W/E 1-4", "W/E 1-11", "W/E 1-21" and so on. BUT if we have to then we can "Week1" like you've suggest.

answer#2: it vary from days and weeks but i don't it ever goes over 200.

    it look great so far!

    thanks for trying

I have given this some thought and have come up with a slightly different sollution. If you can enter your data like I have shown in the (new) data sheet, then we can pull a summary as shown in the (new) Summary sheet. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I am still working on it, take a look at the last sheet (YTD).

Will this be just a weekly thing, you mentioned ytd totals? If that is the case, then I dont see how the summary you have started is taking you there? Do you intend to have a "mile-long" list on the YTD sheet with every name and every date and every task listed?

Re: Need to copy all data for each week and compile to one sheet for year to date data.

first let me said thanks for still working on this for me.

In the past my company has been using this template but do not have a way to easily keep track of the hours for each task.

Because each employee has a limit of hours for each tasks, I want an equation to easily keep track of the hours for each task the employee has done.

the data i upload contain only a partial example of the real template.

The real template contain all 52 weeks of the year with each sheet represent each week.

    Hope this help explain everything

the file you shared, and that I have been working on, had 3 weeks of info, but the YTD you showed me only had 3 days on it. Can you show me a sample of what it would look like for 3 weeks of data? (just so that I know where we are heading on this)

Re: Need to copy all data for each week and compile to one sheet for year to date data.

    sorry for the confusion.

I got a little lazy and did not finish my "YTD" sheet. Please see new upload.

Please note the real template would have 52 weeks with each sheet represent each week. (i.e. "WE 01-04", "WE 01-11", "WE 01-18".... and so on till the last "WE 12-27"). In this new upload I've only made six week ending (the first three week and the last three week of the year).

There are about 200 employee that could potentially sign up for either "task1" or "task2".

Please let me know if you need more clarification.

    thank you.

That makes it easier to see what your expected outcome would look like, good job

I have had to change the tab names again, to make it easier to fit in with my formulas, but I am still working on how to pull in the days based on the EE's for each day.

Take a look at the attched (attaching in the hopes someone else will pitch in and help lol)

    Hiya,
Sorry to jump onto the back on this thread but I'm trying to do something similar.
Does the formula in the file above work for duplicated project numbers too? And is it possible to look up the project number and staff name then get a hours worked which are arranged in an array under w/c dates??
