One column in my spreadsheet doesn't save entered figures all the time.

I have a spreadsheet for payroll. The last column is for net pay. I enter this by hand when I get it back from the payroll tech. There are no formulas in this column. When done entering these figures, I click on "save". Then I close the file.
From past experience with this sprdsht, I have found that it doesn't always save this column. It saves all the other info. I have entered in the sprdsht, but not this column.
So, I have to re-enter everything in this column and "save" again. Close the sheet, then re-open it to be sure it got saved. Why won't it save this column of info. the first time?
What can I do to fix this problem?
    Thank you

Have you removed all macros and event codes? Have you broken links to other workbooks and removed all database queries so that data is not overwritten by a refresh? Is the file opened in read-only mode, and you are actually saving "Copy of " filename? Is the file shared with others, so that you may not have write permission at the time you save it?

I am the only person that uses this spreadsheet. I created it years ago,and it always worked up until about 6 months ago. I am so busy that I haven't taken the time to ask about why it does this, but it is very irritating.

I don't use links, database queries, macros, event codes,or share it with others except the payroll tech. I email the file to her after I enter
all the payroll info. into it. She prints it out, just to use the
information contained in the file/spreadsheet. I save it by clicking on
the save Icon at top of my screen. I have write permission.

Then I would say that your workbook is currently corrupt or is becoming corrupt. Try opening a new workbook, creating enough new sheets to match your old workbook, naming them the same as the sheets in your old workbook, then copying the CELLS of each sheet, and pasting into the correct sheets of the new workbook.

    Bernie,
Thanks so much for your help, but I seem to have fixed it myself.
I deleted all (completely cleared out everything) that could possibly be
in the fields of that column. Then I entered some numbers into the cells in that col., saved the sprdsht, closed it. Then I brought it back up and the info. was still there. Freaky, but I re-checked it 2 more times and it is now saving everything.
