    Re: shading a picture

    Hello,

I've put a text box over the image and allowed for changes in transparency when cell F6 is changed between 0%-100%

Here's a solution that fills up the bottle based on the scrollbar value.

    1) I drew a free-form shape the size of the bottle
    2) It is filled with a gradient based on the scrollbar value.

    First of all thank you
but the filling only starts after moving the scroll
I wish if this doesn't occur and it would fill automatically as the % is up and empties as it down.
    Can this be done?

I changed it so there is no scrollbar. Let me know if that works!

    No code required

Use an image with transparent area as the fill for a column chart.
The second column series provides the fill amount

    Really very good idea
But Andy I need you to tell me: how to understand the formula you did in more detail , please refer me to a link or a reference to learn how to modify and put it in my workbook... I am obliged.

    Re: shading a picture

There is no formula. It is simply a column chart with 2 series.
The series overlap is set to 100 so 1 column is directly in front of the other.

The front column contains a transparent picture of the bottle as it's fill.
The second column is linked to you solution value. As you change the value the height changes.

    Re: shading a picture

If you can, how these columns would overlap
I put the 2 series of chart and got 2 columns
the columns overlap is set to 100 but don't overlap
even after adding my transparent image the don't overlap they stay seperated
This is the key problem that is not solved yet!!!!!

    Re: shading a picture

If the columns do not overlap I guess you have 1 series with 2 data points rather than 2 series with 1 data point each.
