    Apply hyperlink attribute permanently

I need to have an entire column with the hyperlinks attribute.

What I mean is that any time I type into a cell in that column a hyperlink will be immediately associated with it. As it stands now, if there is a hyperlink and I go to change the text of that hyperlink it will be overwritten and the hyperlink will disappear. The only way to retain the hyperlink is to hit F2 and change the text.

Any ideas to make the hyperlinks for every cell in a column permanent? In other words, the hyperlink can't be overwritten.

Maybe if I associate the hyperlink with the cell instead of the text, but I don't know how to do that.

You could put the text in A and have B reference that with the hyperlink function?

    Edit: Something along these lines.....
    =HYPERLINK("#"&"'"&A2&"'!A1","link1")

Where A2 = your reference and A1 = the destination

    Answer to question 1:
I right click and click "hyperlink". I then specify for it to link to another sheet within the same workbook.

    Answer to question 2:
This won't do unfortunately. It has to be able to be edited and the hyperlink still stay intact within one column only, not two.
