    Matching days to DAY NAMES

    Hey Guys

Attached is a worksheet which I am trying to create.

What I have, is a colleagues name, followed by an "x" under the headings Sunday - Saturday if they work on that particular day.

Then I have dates which follow in the heading, I want a "YES" in the cell matching a date if there is an X under the Sunday - Saturday headings IF the colleague works that day.

Will make more sense if you view the file.

Many Thanks in advance for any help!

    Kind Regards

    Ash

    try:
    =IF(INDEX($D3:$J3,MATCH(TEXT(K$2,"dddd"),$D$2:$J$2,0))="x","Yes","")
    in K3 and copy down/across

Maybe you can better change your format.

Then you also be able to use a pivottable.

See the attached file (for the format)
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

    Ho.

One way if you put the numbers 1 to 7 in D1:J1

In K3 copied across and down as an ARRAY formula - entered with Ctrl-Shift-Enter

    Formula: copy to clipboard
