Undoing excels default of locking cells upon copying to a new workbook

    Hi Guys

This is a difficult one for me, basically I provide an excel spreadsheet with a load of formula & vba to clients in order to get bulk data into a web based system. Unfortunately users can break this sheet easily so I keep everything locked down to prevent this from happening and to protect (to some extent) the developments I have made. The data that the users put into this spreadsheet is very often from another spreadsheet, (an export from an older system) however upon transferral of this data from their original sheet to the new sheet it also transfers excels default protection "Locked" this means that if they wish to edit one of the fields they have put into my sheet now, they cannot. Is there a way to keep these cells unlocked permanently? Either by VBA or otherwise?

    Many thanks

    Alan
