Data Validation Drop down based on Filtered Table

    Hi all,

I have an Excel data table (called Products), which has a column called Name, which I use to populate a Data Validation drop-down/list. It wouldn't let me reference the column directly in the list, so I use a named range.

This works fine, except that when the Products data table gets filtered (using Auto-filter) on the Name column (e.g. a few rows get filtered out), then I want the Data Validation drop-down lists to only show the "visible"/"filtered" names, currently it still shows ALL of them.

Likewise, if the filter is updated (or removed), I would like the validation list to reflect accordingly.

You have to reset the named range using the SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible) property.
