    Conditional Formatting Question

    HI everyone

I have a spreadsheet with dates and then an additional column which I want the cell to turn red if there are only two days left until the date. for example

deadline date is 12/05/2014 on the 14/05/2014 I want the cell in the row next to the date to go red - unless I add a date to say it has been done. Hope that make sense - can anyone tell me how to do this please? many thanks in advance for your help

    Re: Conditional Formatting Question

It would be much easier to answer if you attach a sample Excel sheet.

    Re: Conditional Formatting Question

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Upload your workbook, or at least a representative reduced version and manually add the result you expect to see. Give us a few examples with different dates and obviously you'll need to tell us what date you are assuming as the 'current date' in each case.

    Re: Conditional Formatting Question

    Hi Glenn

Thank you for your help - actually it would be so great if it could possibly do the following:

If the first column is the start date which for example is today 14/09/2014- then in the second column I want to type in the completion date -then if the completion date typed in is within two days or less than the start date I want it to go green - if it is more than 2 days I want it to go orange and if there is no completion date entered and the column is blank I want it to go red.

Is this a possibility? and if so how do I do it?

Thank you so much for your help.

    Re: Conditional Formatting Question

You've confused me... It would help if you modified the Excel file and reposted it showing a few examples of what you want. I don't understand if the completion dates are "actual completion" dates or "target completion" dates and exactly what you want to show. To post a file, click "go advanced", then scroll down to "manage attachments" and follow the instructions....
