    Ski race scoring

I'm building a spreadsheet to score ski races and could use pointed in the right direction.

I have a list of registered competitors with demographic and team information, and a chart to calculate points based on time, age, and ***. Every race we would import the competitors times from the timing software to calculate points.

At this point I've gotten scoring to work using a tortured series of IF statements to sort competitors into their age and *** categories, but it seems like there must be an easier way. I'd also like to figure out how to streamline the process of importing times every week, as several people will be using this sheet and I need to make it error proof. Is this where macros come in?

    Thanks for any help!
