Hi,
I am trying to find a way where I can add data labels on top of the waterfall stack automatically as I need my template to be flexible.
Is there a way to do this without lengthy macros?
Thanks in advance!

You could add a series to the chart, where the categories are the same as for the rest of the data, and the Y values equal the top of the stack. Format this added series using the line chart type, and with no markers and no lines, so it is not visible. Add data labels to this added series, position the labels above the points. Here are options for what's in the labels:
1. Manually edit the text of the labels.
2. Select each label (two single clicks, one selects the series of labels, the second selects the individual label). Don't click so much as the cursor starts blinking in the label. Click in the formula bar, type an = sign, then click on the cell that contains the label.
3. Install Rob Bovey's free Chart Labeler (download it from http://appspro.com) and use it to assign cell text to the labels.
4. If you're using Excel 2013, use the Labels from Cells option and select the cells that contain the labels.
