    Time Calculations

    Hello,

I'm trying to calculate hours of the same day before a break. For instance, for October 1, the break occurs at 12:30, so I'd like to calculate how many hours were worked before that break. It's complicated because there are clock-outs and clock-ins within the same minute (we have billable jobs and sometimes jobs are switched, this is why there is a clock-out and clock-in at the same time). For instance, for October 1, employee clocked out at 6:17 and back in at 6:17, so this is not a break, it's a job change.

Normal timecards would occur like October 2, which would be really easy to find out how many hours one has worked before taking their lunch break. Unfortunately, the work environment doesn't allow for such easy calculations because of the billable and non-billable jobs for our clients.

I added an attachment of what one period would look like. I totally appreciate any help with this!

    Re: Time Calculations

    Hi
Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

I think that I "may" have a solution for you. I don't have the time to do extensive testing but it seems to work with your samples.

    Re: Time Calculations

    Hello,

Thank you very much for taking a stab at this. Unfortunately it doesn't give the intended results. I think with the way our data is setup, there isn't a way for me to do this easily.

Once again, thank you! I added rep points for you just for giving it a try.

    Re: Time Calculations

Well, the total rows do give you the time taken before the breaks
