    Excel programming help

Hey guys! I really need help and was hoping someone give me a helping hand. It would really be appreciated.

    Okay, some background information.

We work at a family owned Cinema. We only have 3 auditoriums. At the start of each week we schedule the movies using an Excel file someone made for YEARS BACK. (before my placement began)
The man who made the file no longer works there and we have no idea how to edit it.

Here is a picture of it. http://i.imgur.com/wFtDRpo.jpg

Notice it has 3 boxes labeled Cinema 1, Cinema 2, Cinema 3. What we want to do it add a 4th Cinema box.

I can email the file to you if it helps. I tried opening it and editing and saw a bunch of code or something. I have no idea how to do it =(

Management has asked me to find someone who can help us out.

Thanks so much in advanced for the help!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The file didn't attach but in any case please upload the workbook itself.

    Re: Excel programming help

    Hi,

It's one thing to add a fourth set of cells/columns for a new cinema but unless we understand how you use the system and what should happen in response to various button clicks it wouldn't be advisable just to add some extra cells for a new cinema.

The code is not the most efficient I've seen which makes it quite hard to determine and 'backward engineer' the program process flow.

In any case adding a 4th cinema will not be a five minute job, and not one that many, if anyone here will want to undertake in this particular forum which is mostly occupied with generalities and 'how to' answers.

What you're asking for is a modification to a bespoke system incorporating all the bells and whistles that are required by a 4th screen. You'd be better advised to decide on a budget and offer this for a solution in the paid for Commercial Services forum.
