    Formula can not be entered because it uses more level of nesting ..

    Hi All,

    I want to use the following formula but getting error "formula can not be entered becaue it use more level of nesting".
    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    Can anyone please me sort me out.

    Is the file saved as an .xls (2003-compatible) file? If so, save it as an Excel Workbook (i.e. with an .xlsx extension), then close the file, then re-open it.

    Thanks for the response but unfortunately i have to keep the file in 2003 excel versoin

    Is there a way to fix the above formula?

    There is a limit to nesting in Excel 2003 (and earlier versions) - a maximum of seven levels was allowed. I'm surprised that you are using IFERROR, as that was not available until Excel 2007 came along, so you can only use those files within the later versions, even though they are .xls files from the earlier era.

    You might be able to split the formula up into smaller functional parts in different helper columns.
