Hey all,
Don't know if this is possible without Excel being open, but is there a way I could just create a button (maybe through a macro) that remains open even with excel closed that logs the day & time in an excel file each time I click it?
If so, advanced question, is it possible to have this button open when starting up my computer?
Any feedback will be appreciated.

No. Macros are run by the application, not the operating system.

I think what you want is a keylogger. There are a few different types. I don't know if any can be set to monitor only Excel.
