Drop down menu with option to add figures

Hi, I am creating a database in Excel.
I need to have a dropdown list for each client from 2008 to 2016 in which we add the turnover figures for the year.
I have created my drop down menu but it selects one year only, first of all, then secondly, it does not give you the option to add a figure. Ideally I want to:

    1. Select the year starting at 2008
    2. Once the year appears, enter a figure for that year
    3. Be able to select any one of the years and it should give me the figures I have captured for that particular year.

    Regards,

I don't understand what you mean by ADD FIGURES. I thought your Turnover figures were in the Close corporations sheet and that you needed a formula to extract those data. Can you give us some more information about your whole process?

    Dear p24leclerc,

When you have a drop down menu you have pre-selected text which you need to select from.
In the turnover column I want to manually add figures for each year. So I will have a drop down menu from 2010 to 2015. I want to then capture the turnover figures for each of those years for every client. I want to then be able to select a particular year and the turnover should be the for the year in question.

Re: Drop down menu with option to add figures

where would the turnover figures be stored?
I think you'll have to do that in 2 separate steps. It can't work the way you want to do it because you need a formula in column I to return the turnover figure for the selected year. If you manually put a value in those cells, you'll replace the formulas for values.

What you want to do is to be done elsewhere in your workbook.
