Cant fill formula down in a search engine sheet

Hello guys Iam still new here , anyway I was looking for a search engine template to use and I found one over here : http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...adsheet-2.html

Thank you Pete_UK for it since its working very fine , I did some tweaks to make the sheet work with my data , I didn't change any of the main formulas though , but I am facing a problem , In the search tab when I choose to search in the TW tab for example and I have alot of data in this sheet like 1000-2000 rows and the item I am looking for has around 200-400 results in this sheet the search tab only shows 100 results also when I try to update any tab more than 100 rows the changes wont show in the search tab

I tried to fill down the formula but when I do this I get this symbol (_) in the cells I want to fill the formula down in or copy the formula in

    Any help please ?

    Thanks for changing the title.

Post #15 in the thread that you have linked to points out that the formulae in cells C:K of the Search sheet have been copied down to row 100 as an example - you will need to copy these formulae down further if you have more data.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Cant fill formula down in a search engine sheet

Thanks peter for your answer , I tried to this but whenever I try to copy and paste the formula further down I get an underscore symbol in the cell and the formula wont show any data , though the formulas are referring to cells with actual data ( sorry I am still beginner to this )

I can't tell what's wrong from a picture - please attach the Excel workbook (or a small version of it) instead.

Re: Cant fill formula down in a search engine sheet

There are formulae all across the columns in the Search sheet - you had just copied the formula in column A down a few rows. I have copied them down to row 150 in the attached workbook, by highlighting row 100 then < copy >, then selected rows 101 to 150 and pressed < Enter >. You can repeat this if you have more data.

Note that you are using the XL2003 version of this file from the link you provided earlier, although you are using formatting that was not supported in that earlier version. You will find the formulae more efficient in the .xlsx version of the file (using IFERROR rather than IF(ISERROR... ). I have saved the file as an .xlsx, though I have not changed all the formulae.

    Hope this helps.
