Re: make a calendar with excel 2002

Do you want to do anything with the calendar, like display a list of events on the appropriate day?

Here's a link to one of mine from a few months back:

    Hope this helps.

Okay, I've saved it as an .xls file, and the formulae are compatible with earlier versions.

    Hope this helps.

Sorry about that - the data validation in cell C2 had been changed to the months of the year, rather than month numbers. I've changed it in the version attached.

    Hope this helps.

Re: make a calendar with excel 2002

You enter data into columns A B and C (the black areas), i.e. the event and start date - the end date is optional if the event only lasts for one day, but it enables you to specify a date range for the event.

The blue areas contain formulae which need to be copied down beyond your data to ensure that you don't miss anything. In the example file, the formulae in columns D and F are copied down to row 14, as can be seen by the hyphens. The formulae in columns H to K need to be copied down further (to row 33 in the example file), as these expand each single entry in black to produce one record for each day in the date range, so if your date ranges are large then the number of expanded records is increased. These then get placed in the appropriate boxes on the calendar automatically.

If you only wanted to use it for holidays, then you would just list the holidays with their dates. If you had an annual shut down for one week, then you only need to list that once with the appropriate date range, and this would be expanded to individual dates automatically - play about with it and see what happens.

    Hope this helps.
