How to simulate a change in turn without penalizing my turn.

Quick question for a simulation build.

I am trying to replicate a game such as darts (disregard the points) or football where you have to make the same throw and hit a target. I get 80% of the way there in building the model, but cannot figure out how to replicate a change in a turn.

    So for example:

I shoot first, my opponent needs to make the same shot or else I am awarded a point. If, however, I miss when shooting first the prerogative to shoot first moves to my opponent. I then have to replicate his shots until he misses a shot. At the same time I need to make all of his shots or else he is awarded a point. Is there a simple way to replicate this process that simulates the changing of who shoots first given the misses made? I have been trying to figure out IF functions using AND/OR functions to determine when a point is awarded.

Will you please attach a SMALL sample Excel workbook (10-20 rows of data is usually enough)? Please don't attach a picture of one (no-one will want to re-type all your stuff before starting).

    1. Make sure that your sample data are truly REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential information is removed first!!

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells. They cause lots of problems!

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
