Clearing drop down in Pivot Table

Please Register to Remove these Ads

I have a pivot table that I want to reuse with different data. Basically I have my original data that I drop into a different worksheet, it gets pulled into the pivot table and I view it from there. I then delete my original data (from the worksheet not the pivot table) and drop in new data and refresh my pivot table. The new data is coming in fine but the drop downs for my pivot table are still populated with options from my original data. I'm surprised that the pivot table refresh button doesn't reset this data too but apparently it doesn't. Can someone please point me in the right direction to clearing and resetting the data in the drop down. No macros please as I can't use them for what I'm doing.
Thanks

Trying to remove old data from pivot drop down

Thanks for pointing me the link. However I tried the instructions there for manual removal, multiple times, and it did not work including removing all fields from the table and refreshing it. Here are the steps I tried

Manually Clear Old Items

To manually clear the old items from the list:

Drag the pivot field out of the pivot table.
On the Pivot toolbar, click the Refresh button
Drag the pivot field back to the pivot table

Any other ideas?
