    Angry Virus Scan

When I open Excel and select a Workbook, virus scan is run and I am faced with a delay of several minutes. I know that my Norton Internet Security is messed up but is there anything that I can do with Excel that will stop the virus scan run. The only hope that Symantec offers is to buy a new subscription to the 2007 version which I already own. Grasping at straws, any help appreciated.

It's a Norton problem not Excel.
    Hope that helps.

Also, if your Norton is giving you problems, and Symantec cannot provide you with a reasonable solution, consider Uninstalling Norton completely and replacing it with a free program. (Obviously, this is only an option if the computer is not part of a corporate network).

I currently use Avast Anit Virus. It is a free AV program, and has worked flawlessly for myself and many others.
