    different versions of excel

hi there, i have got 2 versions of excel, 2000 and xp
my work uses a scheduling file that is only compatable with 2000, so i was wondering if there was a way, i could get that one single file to open in 2000 and anything else in xp, is that possible, everytime i try everything still opens in xp automatically...

    thanks

    Hi,

you can create a Shortcut on your desktop, or in the same folder adjacent to the file, which opens the required Excel with the file as a parameter, something like

    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE" c:\excel\slaney.xls

but to Excel 2000 instead of WinWord.
