Hi all I'm asking this for a friend. they are using Excel 2007 on an XP Pro Box.
When they insert a hyperlink into a cell, excel removes a '/' from the address see example below The hxxps should read https but it was the only way I could display the full address.
Original Address: hxxps://proxy.serviceweb.com/get/uri/http://fife.serviceweb.int/data/documentation/Other%20Information/FC%20Site%20Comparrison.xls
After its been pasted into Excel: hxxps://proxy.serviceweb.com/get/uri/http:/fife.serviceweb.int/data/documentation/Other%20Information/FC%20Site%20Comparrison.xls
the error occurs in this section of the hyperlink: http:/fife.serviceweb.int as you can see the :// is now a :/
I personally have tested the address by pasting it directly into the formula bar, via the Insert > Hyperlink method and both methods result in the bad link.
Regards Lee
ok just been messing around with the fx bar and tried:
=HYPERLINK("https://proxy.serviceweb.com/get/uri/http://fife.serviceweb.int/data/documentation/Other%20Information/FC%20Site%20Comparrison.xls","Tester")
The address now reads correctly when I mouseover, but it then comes up with:
Link to screengrab: http://www.re-create.eclipse.co.uk/i... unable to.gif
Bugger just noticed it reads the bad link again![]()
Do you think this is an issue with the proxy part or the fact it has two http parts to it?
It looks like its assuming the second http is a local reference as in /folder/foldertwo/file instead of a hyperlink as in http://folder/foldertwo/file
Regards Lee
